The Fantastic Mr Fox

I saw this film on 26th October at Stratford Picture House

I fell asleep briefly but what I saw was not quite as I remember it from reading the story to my own children. I am told it was fairly true to the book so I must dig out an old copy and check.

Othello

I saw this performance on 24th October
at Trafalgar Studios

Lenny Henry was the big draw for this Othello and he was brlliant. He made the flawed military genius come to life. But for me the best performance was Conrad Nelson's Iago. I almost felt I could through his eyes see his monstrous scheme unfolding and his portrayal of how pure evil manifested itself made me feel cold. But the whole cast was brilliant. This was an excellent production.

Good vampires and bad vampires. I look forward to the sequel.

The Power of Yes

I saw this performance on 22 October at the National Theatre Lyttelton.

A semi documentary on how the credit crunch happened. Surprisingly entertaining and just the right length.

This was a very well attended performance. I don't know how accurate the opening mathematics was or how many in the audience understood it.

The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus

I saw this film on 16th October at Stratford Picture House

A surprisingly well-attended performance. I wonder how many knew what is was about. I didn't.

Zombieland

I saw this film on 10th October
at Stratford Picture House

A very amusing and entertaining load of nonsense although Bill Murry's death I did not find very true to plot.

Creation

I saw this film on 5th October at Cineworld West India Quay

This told a little about Charles Darwin but next to nothng about his theory of evolution. Unfortunately I did not fall asleep.
