I saw this film on 20 June at Stratford Picture House
Possibly the worst film I have seen in the last three years.Syrupy kids, stupid adults. Vaguely plausible storyline that is otherwise totally divorced from reality.

Green Lantern
I saw this film on 13 June at Stratford Picture House
Fairly pointless 3D effects and a weak story line about a monster released from captivity who starts to take over the Universe starting with the Earth. The ending points to a sequel. Rather disappointing, and not up to the standard of the earlier X-Men FC although that had a Marvel not a DC provenance.

X-Men: First Class
I saw this film on 6 June at Stratford Picture House
An excellent further chapter in the history of the X-Men. Beautiful photography, complicated but tight plot, full explanation for Professor X's back injury and for Magnetos's madness. Surprisingly this was NOT made in 3D but it was far better than many that are.

Rambert Dance Company
I saw this performance on 24th May
at Sadlers Wells Theatre
Cardoon Club - When I saw this last year I was not overly impressed. this time I very much enjoyed it and it would have made an excellent closing piece rather than an opener.
Monolith - A very enjoyable piece. I look forward to more of Tim Rushton
Roses - Superb dancing of course but somehow it left me with a feeling of stress.
